Finally got started on my Khorne Berzerker army for WH40k. First layer of paint down, mix of Mechrite Red and Chaos Black (hopefully I have enough for the rest of the army as GW doesn’t make them any more :( ) Next layer will be strait Mechrite Red and build from there until I’m happy with the Red. I had more complicated paint schemes planned, but I just need to get some painting done right now :)
So I ended the last year on a slow down note, going to start this year on a slow up note :) First Hobby time for 2013 finished off the base for my Hellbrute. I’m digging the rubble feel I was able to get with the mix of shale and sand.
Also did a quick inventory for 2013 and am pleasantly surprised to find I have enough Berzerkers to make a whole Khorne CSM army for the new 8th edition. Going to actually field this now as part of my CSM Khorne Berzerker assault foce :) I have high hopes of getting them painted this year.
While digging out my Death Guard for my 40k projects, I ran across my old Nurgle Fantasy Herald. Paint is about as old as that on Typhus. Most of my Fantasy army is now Slaanesh, but I think I will finish this happy little guy up and post some progress on him.
I read the new Chaos Codex and had to dig out my old Typhus model. This is the base coat I started six years ago. Digging out all my old Death Guard for the new run in this edition of 40k. Not sure about the Cultist Zombies, think I’ll stick with all Death Guard for a bit and see how that goes.
A little more basing to do and some green stuff and ready for primer and paint. After reading the rules though, not sure if it’ll ever see the table. Like the sculpt though.
Lots of new rules and changes to the army to digest. Will probably be going back to my Death Guard Army for this edition. Gotta love T5 Havocs with Flakk Missles :)

Not sure what I think of the CSM Hellbrute yet. It’s the new CSM Dreadnaught now, so not much of a choice there. Not too much bigger than the old CSM Dreadnaughts, so will probably run my old Dreads as Hellbrutes any way for the optional weapon load outs. Still need to read the new CSM Codex to see if they are even worth taking now with all the new shiny coming out in the new Codex.
I knew Finecast wasn’t going to be perfect, but I didn’t think it would be this much harder to work with than it’s metal counterpart. I have arrows pointing to the major problems I’m going to have to fix, not even going to bother showing the hundreds of tiny air bubbles that I’ll probably end up just painting over for this one. Thinking this is my first and last Finecast.
Finally got myself a Respirator. So no more blue boogers for me :) Time to dust off the old Airbrush and go to town!
